in betweens

i have this friend who said you dont watch a dancer for how high her leg kicks. what makes her great is how she does the stuff in-between movements. my paraphrase is not quite so eloquent as her original statement, but i whole heartedly agree, and was inspired. so thats what we did... take pictures of her in-betweens which are indeed magnificent. 

 

it must be said, have you ever met a cooler head scarf than this? i think not.

sarah is a champ. i planned a lot of cool stuff for her photo shoot, and nothing that i planned actually happened. thank you, for reminding me that its not me who thinks up each shot. if i let her, the dancer and her personality will show me what to do. 

i'm really lucky when i get to work with technically outstanding dancers like sarah who dont mind making real life art out of dance, instead of showing off what they can do. she such a beautiful artist. which is why i was so excited to go dance art crazy. but seriously, she's good. these are some less artsy ones that give the smallest glimpse...

i love this part of the lake, and these girls splashing in the water.   

why are the mountains level and the ground not, you ask? i may or may not have tipped over mid shooting this one.
